All guests must obey the rules and policies of the Club. Directions by staff to comply with these rules must be obeyed.
The operating season of the Mount Olympus ski field is subject to snow, weather, and mountain conditions. The season may be longer or shorter than publicised. WWSC makes no commitment as to the length of the season, number of tows operating at any time or to the operation of an area or facility on any day.
The pass holder assumes all risk of personal injury, property loss and damage and understands participation in alpine activities and use of the alpine area comes at their own risk. While all practical steps have been taken to mitigate, identify, and remove hazards, the pass holder accepts that marked and unmarked hazards exist.
Absolutely NO BYO (“Bring Your Own”) alcohol allowed within the ski field. Mt Olympus operates a Club Licence under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 — this legislation precludes BYO alcohol on the premises. Mt Olympus reserves the right to confiscate any contraband found on the hill.
Absolutely NO DOGS allowed. By agreement with the private landowner of the high-country station that encompasses Mt Olympus, dogs are prohibited anywhere on the station. This means no dogs in the carpark or on the field — no exceptions.
Ski weeks run from Sunday to Friday and food is included in the pricing. Lift ticket prices are not included in the accommodation rates. Lunch on arrival day is not included.
Meals are included with your accommodation in the Top Hut (Main Lodge). You can’t opt out — please don’t ask. The Top Hut is governed by the Food Safety Act 2014 — this requires us to prepare food under commercial kitchen regulations. If lunch is required on the day of your arrival, it must be booked and paid for before 11am.
Bottom Hut rates are for accommodation only (meals are not supplied) so bringing food is essential — no food is available otherwise.
Members pricing is based on the number of registered work party days completed, when booking online apply the work party days discount code provided — see discount rates below. Note, there are no “earned season passes” available.
Chill Passes can be redeemed at Mt Olympus but please advise when booking.
Using any ski tow (including the Access Tow) requires the purchase of a lift ticket. If you don't want to buy a lift ticket, please walk up to the Top Hut.
Mt Olympus is a groomer-free zone and off-piste is the call of the day: all day, every day. There is no ski hire or ski tuning on the mountain — so ensure all your gear fits, works, and is adjusted correctly. Skis can be hired in Christchurch, Methven or Darfield.
The Volunteer rate is $25 per day/night: this includes skiing on breaks, accommodation, and meals. Two days’ work must be completed to utilise this rate.
Misconduct will result in cancellation or suspension of the pass with no refund and possible removal from the Mountain. Misconduct includes, but is not limited to, reckless or dangerous behaviour while participating in on-mountain actives, excessive speed within a slow or learning zone, disregard for closed areas, unsociable or abusive behaviour, being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, supply of incorrect information or any other breach of the conditions of service.
